The Ultimate Movie Night Essentials

If you’ve been reading my blog/following me on Instagram for a while, you may know that I am a big fan of a movie night. I love being cosy and, for me, movie nights are one of the cosiest things.
When I’m needing self-care, I love getting wrapped up and losing myself in a good film or series. If you’re looking for some Netlfix recommendations, click here.
Usually, I’m more than happy with just chucking a movie on and sitting on the sofa or even in bed. But sometimes I like to go all out and create a blanket fort, or an indoor picnic style set up and be ultra-cosy and have the ultimate movie night with all the snacks and drinks possible.
So, here is a list of my ultimate movie night essentials – let me know in the comments if you think that I’ve missed anything!
1. Movies!
This is probably the most obvious one – you can’t have a movie night without movies! I’ve decided to start collecting the shiny Disney and matte Pixar movies (yes, I know I’m a bit late to the party), so I was planning on watching one of these. However, my boyfriend and I have decided to watch the Star Wars movies in chronological order, so we watched the first episode of that instead (and so far, we’re already loving it!)
2. All The Snacks
Deciding on what snacks to eat during a movie night is serious business. I decided to go for whatever caught my eye in complete honesty – plus some new snacks that I wanted to try. I did also have mozzarella dippers and mini hash browns, but I ate those before taking the photos…oops!
Which of these snacks is your favourite?
3. A Range Of Drinks
My go-to is always a hot chocolate with lots of squirty cream and marshmallows. There’s just something about a hot chocolate in the evening that makes me feel so warm & cosy. I also had to have it in this gorgeous 101 Dalmatians mug from Asda (I also have matching glasses which are just as adorable).
If you’re looking for something a little stronger, I’ve been loving these cocktails in a can. I don’t really drink anymore, but if I’m fancying something these are my go-to (or Brother’s Marshmallow Cider is also delicious).
I have also been enjoying non-alcoholic cocktails in a can – so that gives the best of both worlds.
4. Blankets, Duvets, Pillows Galore
When I’m planning the ultimate movie night, I love to make it as cosy as possible – so this means as many blankets, duvets and pillows as possible. There’s just something about wrapping up and getting all cosy with all of your blankets.
I’d love to set this up outside and set up a projector and have a movie night outside on a warm summer evening (hint hint to my boyfriend).
5. Cosy Clothes
I am one of those people that will happily sit in my pyjamas all day if I’m just relaxing/having a peaceful day. But especially when I’m having a movie day/night. And obviously I brought out my Disney Pixar pyjamas for the occasion.
If you’re not feeling pyjamas, loungewear is also another great option. I’m currently eyeing up this* one on ASOS.
6. Someone You Love
This isn’t necessary, and I do enjoy having a movie night by myself. But sometimes it’s the perfect opportunity to be with someone that you love; whether that’s your partner, your family, your friends or even your pet – it’s good to spend time with people that you love.
7. Extras
If I’m having a pamper during my movie night then I love applying a face mask – my go to being The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask*. If you’re looking for more ideas for a pamper night, click here.
