My Top Picks On Netflix - September 2018
Edited April 2020
As uni is starting on Monday I have been preparing everything that I need in the hope of having a successful year. However, I know that there will be several days that I just spend curled up in bed watching Netflix. So, I thought that I would compile a list of my current favourite shows/films on Netflix (this will probably be done in several parts). I’m also more than happy to receive recommendations for anything else that I should watch.
This list doesn’t include shows like Peaky Blinders, Orange is the New Black, Friends or American Horror story etc as they’re such popular shows my guess is that most people who have Netflix will have already watched these shows (or seen some of them when they were on TV).
Don’t worry, there won’t be any spoilers. I hate when people do that.
How To Get Away With Murder
This show is one of my absolute favourites. Viola Davis is just amazing. I included this because once I started watching it, I just binged until I’d finished it. They’re also in the middle of filming a new series so I am very very excited!
Once Upon A Time
I first watched this show when it started airing on Channel 5 (which feels like forever ago). I became obsessed and was gutted when I could no longer find it. Recently discovering it on Netflix made me very happy and I resumed watching. It’s now getting a little weird, but I can’t help but continue to watch it and love all the characters.
Black Mirror
I know that Black Mirror may be an obvious one, but I had to include it as I love the way that Netflix took the Channel 4 show and made it even darker and more thought provoking. It is one of my all-time favourite series’ and I continue to watch it over and over.
Anything Louis Theroux
I know that many people would agree with me on this one. I love watching anything that Louis Theroux does. He’s so smart and witty and funny and his documentaries just wouldn’t be the same with any other host.
Happy Valley
If you didn’t know, I have a thing for James Norton, so I just had to watch this show to see what his character is like. And well I love it! Happy Valley has planned a return for next year and I’m very much looking forward to it.
Perks of Being A Wallflower
Although this is a popular film, and I own it on DVD, I included it because I just love it. The cast is amazing, it’s based on an amazing book and I just think that it’s all round brilliant.
I know that this post wasn’t very long, but I had to stop somewhere. Otherwise it could quite literally go on forever. I was also very conscious about spoilers.
If you would like a more detailed review of anything (whether I have watched it yet or not) just let me know. I am definitely up for that.
What would you recommend on Netflix?
