My New Best Bud...Disney+
I’ve loved Disney for as long as I can remember. So, when I discovered that Disney+ was coming to the UK I knew that I had to purchase it. And truthfully, it’s one of the best things that I have ever purchased. Disney films and TV shows fill me with so much happiness and nostalgia and has definitely helped me get through this lockdown and crazy world that we’re currently living in. Therefore, I thought I would compile a list of what I have been watching on Disney+ if anyone is looking for some inspiration or if you just want to be nosey – because who doesn’t.
However, while writing this I realised that I probably don’t need to write a description or my opinion on most of the films and TV series’ as if you enjoy Disney, you’ve probably seen them.
Although, also available on Disney+ is National Geographic. And through National Geographic I have discovered one of my favourite shows and favourite families. Therefore, I have decided to just list what I have watched as I’d still like to give some recommendations if you haven’t watched much Disney and want some inspiration. But I will then talk more about my love for The Incredible Dr Pol (that’s the name of the show and I also think that he’s incredible).
So, so far, I have watched:
Coco
High School Musical 1, 2 & 3
Hannah Montana Series
Moana
Big Hero 6
Up
All of the Marvel Films
Christopher Robin
Live Action Aladdin
Live Action Cinderella
Live Action Lion King
Live Action Lady and the Tramp
Mulan
How Dogs Got Their Coats
Jane
Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue
World’s Greatest Dogs
Kingdom of the Apes – Battle Lines
Inside Out
Aristocats
Frozen 2
Soul
I’ve probably watched more than this, but I forgot to write down what I’d watched afterwards…but I’ll probably just continue to add to this list until I’ve watched everything on there😂
Now…onto The Incredible Dr Pol. The UK Disney+ currently has The Incredible Dr Pol, The Incredible Dr Pol Jingle Pols, The Incredible Dr Pol Blue Ribbon Kids and Incredible! The Story of Dr Pol.
I will first start with a negative to get it out of the way. The only negative for me isn’t even about the show – it’s about the fact that the UK Disney+ currently only has 6 out of 12 series available and that makes me so sad. So, please Disney+ put the other series on there and you’ll make this little Welsh lass so very happy🥰.
So, if you’ve never heard of Dr Pol, you may be asking “Cerys, who on earth is Dr Pol?” Well, let me tell you.
Dr Jan Pol was born and raised in the Netherlands on his family’s dairy farm. Dr Pol has been treating pets and livestock in rural Michigan since the 1970’s and is a pioneer in his field. He has more than 23,000 clients and his patients range from white mice and snakes, to cows and 2,600-pound horses – and everything in between (source). Have I mentioned that he’s also currently 77 and is still practicing veterinary medicine?!
The description Disney+ gives of his show is “Meet Dr Pol, an expert in large farm animals and pets. This senior is anything but retiring as he takes an old-school, no-nonsense approach to veterinary medicine. Nat GEO WILD follows The Incredible Dr Pol as he travels across rural Michigan to care for every family pet and head of livestock in need of his expertise and kindness. Treating numerous patients, including horses, pigs, cows, sheep, alpacas, goats, cats, dogs and even an occasional reindeer, Dr Pol is not your average vet” (source).
And, as mentioned in my previous post, I love farm animals! And naturally (as mentioned above), this show is filled with a wide range of farm animals and that makes me happy!
As someone who loves animals, I love being able to see other people’s pets and seeing how Dr Pol and the other vets care for them. There’s not enough words to describe how happy this show makes me – just ask my boyfriend what I’m like when we watch it😂.
So if you take anything from this post its – I love Dr Pol and Disney+ is the best thing I’ve ever bought😂.
